Sedan Crater is the site of the largest cratering shot in the Plowshare Program. It was as created at the Nevada Test Site on July 6, 1962. A simple 104 kiloton explosive, buried under 635 feet of desert alluvium, displaced 12 million tons of earth and formed a crater 320 feet deep and 1,280 feet in diameter.
